ESC have been advised by the Sovereign Centre Management that they currently have contractors in the Centre undertaking essential electrical works.
Whilst they have tried to keep any disruption to a minimum to ensure facilities remain open, they have informed us that it will be necessary to have a full Centre closure for one week. This closure is to complete a significant part of the works which requires a full power shutdown.
Therefore all Eastbourne Swimming Club sessions at the Sovereign Centre are cancelled from Monday 25th November 2024 for one week and we return again on Monday 2nd December 2024 when the Centre will be reopened.

We apologise for any inconvenience but as you will appreciate this is beyond our control.

ESC is taking the quality of its competition to the next level, with the rollout of new state-of-the-art WYLAS Swim Timing System.

The system includes wireless stopwatches with lanyards and digital recording software. By synchronising all the stopwatches to the same start signal, the system has improved accuracy compared to manual stopwatches.

The wireless component eliminates the need for manual writing of times on paper after each swim, with times uploaded directly to the computer from the stopwatch. With most swim meets relying on parents to man the stopwatches, this system takes away a lot of the pressure off volunteers and makes for a much smoother running of meets.

WYLAS Timing’s software is fully compliant with FINA & US swimming’s timing regulations.

The Meet Mobile app that provides live results of meets will also be accessible with the launch of the new system.
